The Jugtown Colts 4-H
Club is based out of Calhoun, Missouri in Henry
County. Our arena is approximately. 1 1/2 miles north
from the Hwy 52 & College Street intersection in
Calhoun, Missouri. Our club had many novice horse
riders and could not find shows in the area that were
more informal and many didn't advance the desire of our
participants to just have fun. Our shows foster
sportsmanship and necessary basic safe skills. Hence,
we (Jugtown Colts 4H and Calhoun Colt Show) have
refurbished and opened a once used arena (donated by Mr.
Don Dietz). It is not uncommon to have riders from 6 to
60 years. During our Open Shows, parents consistently
participate with their children, making our shows truly
a family affair. We also have a concession stand and
provide water, if shows run late we do have lights.
Because of the local involvement of our community and
dedicated efforts of numerous volunteers we have
continuously been labeled with the best horse arena
footing in Henry County.
